A few wards — such as intensive care, oncology and some maternity units — restrict fresh flowers, so it’s worth checking with the hospital; if flowers can’t go to the bedside, sending them to the family home is a thoughtful alternative. If the patient has already been discharged, the flowers are left with the ward.

What details do you need for a hospital delivery?
The patient’s full name, the ward or room, and the hospital’s name and address. The more detail you give, the more smoothly the flowers reach the right bedside.
What if some wards don’t allow flowers?
A few wards — intensive care, oncology and some maternity units — restrict fresh flowers. It’s worth checking first; if flowers can’t go to the bedside, sending them to the family home is a lovely alternative.
What happens if the patient has gone home?
If the patient has been discharged, the flowers are left with the ward. If you know they’re heading home, it’s best to send to their home address instead.
